Frequently asked questions
How are you paid?
We work as the exporters' commercial representative (Handelsvertreter) — the standard model for manufacturer representation in Germany and Switzerland. The Indian exporter pays us a commission at a rate fixed in advance, and the price is the same whether you buy through us or directly. For you: no fees, no markup, a contract concluded directly with the exporter, and the exporter's own quotation in front of you.
Who is the exporter and importer of record?
The Indian manufacturer or merchant exporter is the exporter of record and invoices you directly. Your company is the importer of record. We coordinate the process and documentation on both sides.
What quality standards do you inspect against?
Against your specification: technical drawings and tolerances for engineering parts, agreed specifications and certificates of analysis for chemicals and ingredients, and AQL sampling plans for consumer goods. Every inspection produces a written report with photos before shipment.
What are typical lead times from India?
Production typically takes 25–60 days depending on the product, plus roughly 25–35 days sea freight from Indian ports such as Nhava Sheva or Mundra to North Sea ports, or about 3–7 days by air freight. We confirm realistic dates per order and monitor them.
Do imports from India into Switzerland pay customs duty?
Switzerland abolished import duties on industrial goods on 1 January 2024, and the EFTA–India trade agreement (TEPA) has been in force since 1 October 2025. For Germany and the EU, duty may still apply depending on the product; correct preferential origin documentation can reduce it, and we prepare this per HS code.
What about REACH, CE and other EU compliance?
Compliance obligations depend on the product and typically sit with the importer. We verify the supplier's position early — for example REACH registration status for chemicals into the EU — and provide the documentation you need, so there are no surprises at customs or in your audit.
What are typical minimum order quantities?
MOQs vary widely by product and supplier. Part of our sourcing work is finding suppliers whose MOQs match your volumes, and negotiating trial quantities for first orders.
Can you support supply-chain due-diligence requirements?
Yes. We disclose the actual manufacturing sites, arrange factory audits and photo documentation, and support the information requirements of frameworks such as the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG).
